Title: This Much I'm Worth (A self-evaluating artwork)
Medium: Digital - Neon, Cold Cathode,Electronics and WIFI | 60cm x 60cm ( 23" x 23")
The artwork is no longer passive, but gathers information from the gallery and passes it back to the Internet of Things (IOT). Complex algorithms called "endorsers" run nightly on external serves using the data gathered together with extensive data mining from the media and internet to reevaluate the work. The endorsers then post the new value back to the IOT over night where it is then picked up through a wireless connection by the artwork.
This is a prototype - a work in progress - as the algorithms are consistently modified. A large scale version of this work is to be fully constructed from Neon (pending funding approval) that will be exhibited externally.
The current value resides on ThingSpeak,an open data platform for the Internet of Things. [Note: It is currently held in a private channel that will be made public during exhibitions. ]
