Artist: Jackson Bailey

Title: Sparkle Magic
Medium: Acrylic and Glitter on Canvas

Through the medium of paint, I seek to utilize various colour harmonies and surface textures to visually engage the audience. I also use it as an opportunity to explore the range of possibilities allowed through my choice of materials. I am vehemently opposed using art as a means to represent imagery or direct aspects from the real world. It would not be unreasonable to suggest that colour and form are enough to carry a painting. I am inspired by concepts like Ordered Complexity and Emergence, where things build up from a simple base structure by following a set of predetermined rules, and self-organize as they go. I translate this into painting by building off of the random, using a predetermined technique and range of colours.
