The overarching practical research is entitled Leaders of Men. This proposes to question why specific individuals have purposely sought to construct an intentionally specific romanticised notion of a quintessential English portrayal. This particular conception of Englishness refers to a nostalgic, mythologised portrayal, surrounding ideas of the melancholic, awkward outsider, yet maintaining an egotistical bordering on narcissistic characteristic.
